  • How to Lose Weight Fast


    In this article, I will tell you how you can lose a good bit of weight, fast. Now before we get started, do note that you should not do any of these for a long period of time as it is just not sustainable and not good for you in the long term.

    The best way to lose fat is by eating in a reasonable calorie deficit and exercising. Nothing beats that, but if you are faced with an emergency (vacation? wedding? photoshoot?) then here are a few options to drop that weight, fast.

    Fast
    Fasting allows you to drastically limit your calorie consumption for the day. An average male burns anywhere from 1800-2000 calories per day just by existing. A pound of fat consists of 3500 calories. If you do nothing all day and eat nothing, you have already burnt 1800-2000 calories. See where I’m going with this? The best way to lose fat is to not eat more calories.

    Now I definitely do not recommend that you just don’t eat for a long period of time. Do not go more than 24 hours without eating. I would suggest you fast for 24 hours, then eat lean meats and vegetables the next day, fast for another day, so on and so forth.
    Do NOT follow this plan for more than 2 weeks. It's not a good way to live and is not healthy.

    Go on a juice diet
    Juice diets have gained a lot of popularity recently. The basic idea is to eat nothing at all and just drink freshly juiced fruits and vegetables. Juicing is great because it helps to get a whole lot vitamins, minerals and nutrients without a ton of calories.

    However, you can not just get by long term by just having juice the rest of your life. You miss out on a lot of nutrients that you will only get from solid food.

    For a short time though, it's alright. I would recommend no more than 5-7 days of a juice only diet.

    After that, I would slowly start to incorporate solid foods with at least 2 juice ‘meals’ per day.

    Workout twice a day
    It really is as easy as it sounds. To burn fat, you need to burn more calories than you consume and if you really have a hard time limiting calories, then the next best option is to just burn more. Start working out twice a day and you do just that.

    Work out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning (warning: do not go heavy) and then work out again in the evening. Make sure to leave at least a 6-hour gap between workouts to allow your body to recover.

    Remember, these are just short term plans for emergency situations. The healthiest way to lose fat is to aim for a loss of 1-3pounds per week.
