  • How to Drink More Water


    We all know how important water is for us. Our bodies are made up around 60-65% water, therefore, it is important that we maintain that balance. If you are working out, in a hot environment or just sweat more naturally, you need to be drinking even more than the average person. It's not always easy though, so here are a few ways you can increase your daily water intake.

    Flavor your water

    I’ve heard some people say that they just don’t like the taste of water. I really don’t understand this but it's possible that some people have water that is contaminated with things like metal, etc. First of all, get your water tested and if it's found to be not so pure, either get a water filter or drink bottled.

    If you still find water to be just dull, then add some flavor to it. You can add things like lemon, mint, cucumber, orange, parsley and even a little bit of sugar to help you drink more throughout the day. I recommend a combination of lemon, cucumber and mint. This helps to keep you cool and also gives your metabolism a teeny, tiny kick.

    Drink a glass every half hour
    It can get quite easy to get sucked into your work and forget all about your health. Set a timer (or get an app) to remind you to drink a glass of water every half hour. Bonus points if you can get up and take a couple steps to the kitchen/pantry. Weight loss + hydration = win win!

    Eat foods high in water
    The following list contains foods that are at least 90% or higher in water content:
    • Watermelon
    • Cucumber
    • Grapefruit
    • Zucchini
    • Strawberries
    • Cantaloupe
    • Lettuce
    • Celery
    • Green peppers


    Add these to your daily diet and you will have no problems getting enough water.

    Add Ice to dilute your drinks
    Ice is just frozen water so it's no doubt that adding these to your drinks will increase their water content. Lemonade, whiskey, tea, coffee whatever you’re drinking, just add a couple of ice cubes.

      I add BCAA's in my water throughout the day for flavor and help keep catabolism at bay. Need to drink water!!!
