  • How to Burn More Calories Throughout the Day

    We all want to burn extra calories, whether it's to burn some fat or to just be able to eat some more throughout the day. What most people don’t realize is that it's not that hard to burn some extra calories throughout the day, you don’t need to go for marathons every single day just to eat that extra piece of chicken. Small things can add up to a whole load of calories.

    Perform Finishers
    The best way to burn up to an additional 200-300 calories a day. At the end of your workout perform a circuit of exercises to give yourself a boost. Here’s a good one:
    10 burpees
    20 bodyweight squats
    30 seconds of farmer walks (hold the heaviest dumbbell/kettlebell and walk around)
    20 lunges (10 each side)
    10 pushups

    Rest for a minute and repeat 2 more times.

    Take a Walk Every 30 Minutes
    Just getting up from your seat and taking a couple steps can burn an additional 100 calories a day. This is especially useful if you work a desk job. Every half hour, get up from your seat and go for a 60-second walk. Bonus points if you do some standing calf raises. Go to the kitchen, make yourself a cup of coffee, get some water just move!

    Reduce Rest Periods
    Just reducing your rest periods between your workout sets by a couple of seconds can have a tremendous thermogenic effect. If you currently rest for 2 minutes between sets, bring it down to 1 minute 45 seconds, and then 1:30, then 1:00. This shorter rest time keeps your heart rate elevated which leads to a higher number of calories burnt.

    Drink Lemon Cayenne Water

    You might have heard of people recommending hot lemon water in the morning to detox your body and kickstart your metabolism. Yes, that works great, but if you want an added boost, add half a teaspoon of cayenne or cinnamon (or both) to really turn up the heat!
