  • How To Make Your Workouts More Interesting

    There comes a time in every person’s life where their workouts start to get boring and it feels more like a chore than an actual fulfilling workout. We’ve all been there. It happens. Then it just becomes a mental struggle to make it to the gym and push to your max.
    It’s going to happen and when it does, don’t worry about it, just try out some of these tips.

    Work Up the Weights
    This is a brutal one and is going to take all of your strength and courage. Once you’re done with this, you will feel like an animal, adrenals overcharged!

    It's very simple, pick an exercise and a weight that allows you to do at least 20 reps easily.

    Now you’re not going to do 20 reps, hold on. Do just 5 reps, add more weight, then do 5 more reps, then add more weight and do 5 more reps, keep going until you can no longer do 5 full (unassisted reps) and then work your way back down the weight range. One set should be enough and will leave you exhausted. I recommend this method for any lagging body parts that you want to bring up.

    Do Some Cardio In-between
    It's just as simple as it sounds. Add in some cardio in between your sets to keep your heart rate up, burn the fat and to keep you from getting lazy. Do a set of whatever exercise you’re doing, then hop on the treadmill and walk for 30-60 secs and then without rest, go back to lifting. This is a great way to burn some extra fat as it really keeps your heart rate up for the entire duration of your workout and burns a whole bunch of calories. It doesn’t have to be the treadmill, just pick your favorite cardio exercise and get to it.

    Do Something You’ve Been Ignoring
    I'm sure everyone has that one exercise or body part that we have been ignoring. For me it was pushups and pull-ups. I just couldn’t do them in the beginning so I gave up. However, after a few weeks of bench presses and lat pulldowns, I can now successfully do a couple of pushups and pull-ups. I didn’t know why it was that I couldn’t do it, maybe my chest and back were just too weak but now I can. The point here is that if you’re tired of the boring old stuff, push yourself to try something that you’ve been dreading or couldn’t do. I know for a lot of people this would be squats, do it! You’ll learn to love the burn!
