  • 3 Reasons You've Lost Gym Motivation

So, you used to spend countless hours each day at the gym and, recently, you haven't had the motivation to get up go. In the past, you would go even if the weather was bad just because you knew you had to get your sets in. However, lately, it seems like you've fallen off the wagon and your motivation to go hit the iron isn't quite what it used to be.

Does this sound like a familiar situation? If so, you aren't alone. Anyone who has spent extensive time at the gym has lost their motivation at some point, leading to more and more missed gym sessions that become just going through the motions and workout program repetition with little deviation. If you have lost your motivation recently, one of these 3 reasons could very well be the culprit.

You Aren't Seeing Progress Any More

One of the biggest reasons for losing interest in spending quality time at the gym is that once your muscles begin to show, it becomes seemingly harder and harder to keep packing on muscle. Unfortunately, when you get discouraged and stop lifting, this will often lead to muscle loss that you have already worked so hard for. Just remember, Rome wasn't built in a day and attaining your desired physique will likely take time.

    You've Become A Gym Robot
We've all gone to the gym and seen that one person that does the same routine day after day. While this may work for some, it can become stale very quickly for the majority of people. There's an old saying that goes "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". Don't your gym routine become insanity or you will likely lose the motivation to keep going.

    You Aren't Being Held Accountable
While most people would prefer to be left alone at the gym, having a gym partner to at least get you there is important. If you aren't holding yourself accountable, then you may benefit from having someone there to get you up and push you to keep going. Often, just making it to the gym is enough to motivate you to get in a great workout.
