    Although you may be breaking your personal records and building real strength, without building your stamina you likely aren't achieving optimal results. By increasing your endurance and stamina, you will be able to work out longer and more effectively to further improve your physique. If you are looking to enhance your training sessions and build real stamina, here are 3 ways to get started.

    Combine Cardio and Weight Training
    One of the quickest ways to build stamina is by increasing your heart rate and challenging your cardiovascular system. To do this, try combining cardio with your weight training into sets, much like high intensity interval training. For an easy approach try adding sprints in between your weight sets without taking a break to get your heart rate up.

    Give Your Body Variation
    After around two weeks of doing the same training routine, the body will typically adjust and no longer receive the same results. For this reason, it is important to continuously switch up your cardio routine to continue to improve your endurance. If you are looking for something new to get your cardiovascular system working, try boxing or Muay Thai training as a replacement for traditional cardio methods.

    Limit Rest Periods Between Sets
    The average rest period between sets will generally fall between 30 to 90 seconds; however, building stamina will likely require these periods to be gradually cut down. If you are looking to build endurance and stamina, you will want to push yourself until you absolutely need a break then only rest as long as needed to continue. This is a great way to feel the burn and get your physique contest ready.
