  • Low-Carb Pasta Alternatives You Should Try

If you are like most people that try to transition into a low-carb diet, pasta will likely be one of the first things you miss. There are many different dishes that utilize pasta as a base and, if we're being honest, it's hard for me to find one that I don't like. If you are cutting carbs but still need to get your fix, try these low-carb pasta alternatives at your next meal.

    Spaghetti Squash
In recent years, spaghetti squash has become a staple for most low carb aficionados even though it can be a little difficult to cook your first time. Pair it with your favorite sauce or some Ragù and you won't even miss the real thing. With just 5.5 NET carbs in a 1 cup serving, you can have all of the joy a plate of spaghetti provides with none of the guilt.

    Zucchini Noodles
One of the newer low-carb pasta alternatives to hit the scene is zucchini noodles, or zoodles. To make this healthier approach to the traditional noodle, you only have to spiralize or peel zucchini to get the traditional noodle-like shape. A medium-sized zucchini contains around 4 NET carbs, meaning you won't be sabotaging your diet by including zoodles into your meal plans.

    Shirataki Noodles
Created from konjac yams, Shirataki Noodles can be hit or miss for many because of the strong smell they have If not properly drained and cooked. Unlike the other noodles found on this list, Shirataki Noodles have a rubbery texture but have only 5 calories and 1 NET carb per serving. If you want to give it a shot, check your local grocery store for "Miracle Noodles" and put them into homemade Ramen.
