  • Just Relax

    I can’t STRESS enough how important relaxation is. If you are like me, it seems we have to work seven days each week just to keep up. We are part of a new world, the world of self-promotion. We have to do everything we can do to get ahead, to be the best and to always be better than yesterday.

    There was a time when Sunday was observed as a day of rest. I don’t mean rest from the gym, but rest from everything. I clock out of work but my mind is still there. Sitting at home with my family I am thinking about the problems of the day and just can’t relax. We are setting ourselves up for an early death. Do you ever feel burnt out? When is the last time you were just completely relaxed? Think about the things that cause you stress and figure out a plan to take the worry and frustration out of the equation.

    Some tips for handling your stress is learning some breathing techniques. Deep breathing can help you clear your mind and let go of the annoyances of your day. Try taking a hot bath or shower and draw the warm steam into your lungs and slowly exhale.

    Take care of YOU! Women are often guilty of this relaxation don’t. We all have people that we love and care for, but if you aren’t at your best, the quality of assistance you are giving them isn’t going to be the best it can be either. Always take care of yourself first. You need to make time for proper nutrition and relaxation first so you have the energy to do for others. If you have had a long day at work and you have to come home with a smile and play Super Mom, why not take a half hour to yourself first. Have a hot cup of tea, relax in a dim environment away from loud noises, flashing lights, or screaming children, and just unwind. You will find that you are more patient and more effective at taking care of the tasks at hand.

    If you have trouble sleeping at night because of an overactive brain, put on some soft ambiance sounds and turn off any light source. Even a night light can distract your brain and keep you up.       I am guilty of having problems relaxing! I am always on the go and there is always something to do! I rarely just sit back and relax and remember to take care of myself. I think this is so important for both ourselves and our families! Great article!

      Being unemployed...all I do is rest but I think that is more stressful for me than working...looking for a job everyday and freaking out about the future! Great article buddy!

      A great way for me to relax is to go for a small walk...not cardio. Just a leisurely stroll. Of course, smoking was a better way...but that's in the past now. How I miss it lol.

      Smoking is not the best option anyway though bud haha. I made this article because I am also all to guilty of this. I am always stressing out over one thing or another. I am still in the hospital with my boy because hes having problems gaining weight at 3 months old. Stressful stuff.

      I know how this is! I am unemployed as well so the added stress from that doesn't help in keeping me relaxed. The key is to make time for yourself every single day! Even if everything around you is falling apart it is important to make sure to always make time to work out, rest, and RELAX!
